Sports Performance

The sports performance service is aimed to improve athletism in sportsmen and women. In addition to the Workouts Gym based coaching for Sports Performance, Paul Royston has worked with Keighley Cougars RLFC in the 1990's on rehab of injured players. Between 2002-05 was Head of Strength and Conditioning for Head Coach Gary Moorby, winning the 2003 National League Two Grand Final). Paul also worked for Halifax RLFC as Head of Strength and Conditioniing in 2005/06 before working for Wakefield Trinity Wildcats with Richard Moore in a consultancy role.

Paul Royston (Strength & Conditioning Coach, with Joe Vagana, Bradford Bulls Super League legend, Super Leagues Oliver Wilkes and members of the Aussie U18's Rugby League Team who toured GB in 2006-07, training at Workouts Gym).

After being approached by Head Coach Barry Eaton, Royston returned to a role as Strength and Conditioning Coach for Keighley Cougars Rugby League Football Club for the 2010 Championship season following their recent promotion. He has worked with many Super League and Championship level players individually such as Oliver Wilkes preparing him for the 2008 Rugby League World Cup where he represented Scotland, scoring two tries in the teams three appearances - not bad for a front rower!

Super League's Oliver Wilkes (then at Wakefield Wildcats, now with Harlequins for the 2010 Super League season) at Workouts Shipley with Paul Royston in preparation for the 2008 Rugby League World Cup in Australia where he represented Scotland.

Paul was also responsible for the training and dietary regime that helped the former Leeds Rhinos Academy and Bradford Bulls prop Richard Moore (pictured top right) to return to the Super League in top condition with Wakefield Trinity Wildcats in 2006. Richard comments, 'My return to Super League in 2006 was shaped by Paul. Having worked with him at Cougar Park when on loan from Bradford Bulls in 2002 I knew he would improve my fitness and get my focus back - he helped me obtain the best condition of my career.' Workouts Sports Performance was used as a training camp by the Australian Unders 18's National Rugby League team when they toured Britain in 2006-07.
